Elan Resource the world's leading IT and T Recruitment Company is looking for a DBA Systems Engineer for one of our major clients in Lugano or Lausanne. We are interested in a dynamic candidate who is keen to work in an International environment.

Main Activities and responsibilities:
*Configuration and administration of Oracle databases such as setup, installation, configuration, upgrade, reorganisation and maintenance
*Monitoring and performance tuning of multiple Oracle instances
*Troubleshooting, tuning assistance and query optimisation assistance
*Apply Oracle software security patches
*Daily operation tasks as well as implementation and verification of backup and statistics
*Interface with development teams and production and 2nd level Support
*Experience with Tools and utilities such as Grid Control

Profile and competences:
*A degree or higher education in Information Technology
*Very good knowledge of Oracle 9i and 10g version
*Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration on Sun Solaris
*Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration
*Good Skills in Oracle PL/SQL and Shell scripts
*Team work
*Ability to work on tasks and under pressure
*Languages: Fluent French and English
