Description:

For our customer, a big international company in Basel, we are currently looking for an Application Service Manager for a scientific application (contract).

Start date: June 2008
Duration: long-term contract (possibly until end of 2009)

At our customer you are the responsible Service Manager. There you work together with the business to ensure that the systems are always running and available. In case the system is not working properly you will coordinate and recommend the measures to be taken in order to solve the problem. Furthermore you make sure that the Service Management Processes are implemented and followed correctly. During your work you improve and manage the Operation Service Level Agreements (OLAs). Apart from that you write reports on a regular basis and hold review meetings with the System Manager. It is also your duty to analyse new system requirements and then recommend the necessary improvements to be made. And you make system checks regularly to see if the system runs according to plan.
You work together with the internal customers (mostly scientists) to their needs regarding the scientific application.

Your skills:
- Profound work experience as Application Service Manager
- Experience with Matlab mandatory
- HPC is a plus
- Practical experience with Linux
- Scientific background
- Experience in working together with the business
- Windows server, network and storage experience
- Experience with multi-cultural teams
- Excellent communication skills in English are a must
