Logiciel Information Systems (LIS) is the United Nations IT development lab for DevInfo. popularly known as DevInfo Support Group (DSG) with the head office at New York UN headquarter. It facilitates and works in tandem with various national and international organizations like UNICEF, USAID, UNDP, UNFPA, WFP, Planning Commission of India, Census Board of India, UNDGO, UN Habitat etc.
The key responsibility areas included client interaction and understanding product requirements for their UI and promotional material designs and managing the design team. Enhancing and reinforcing the DevInfo brand visibility through various marketing and design initiatives for all DevInfo adaptations. Coordination with the development team and various external agencies.
PROJECTS
DevInfo 5.0
DevInfo a UN endorsed database system designed to monitor the Millennium Development Goals—the framework that captures the dreams of the billions living on this planet for a tomorrow free from poverty, with peace and harmony for all.
DevInfo 5.0 is used by all the UN country teams, all the UN member countries. It has also been adapted to provide real time information in emergencies such as the recent tsunami.
The brief was to position the DevInfo brand as a key enabler, a handy yet powerful tool that can be easily used, deployed on the desktop and over the internet, cater customized as per country requirements.
We came up with “Facts. You decide” as the punch line. The campaign pitched a new brand identity for DevInfo. It included an interactive web site http://www.devinfo.org and an online web version of the software http://www.devinfo.info, along with 14 elaborate e-learning modules http://www.devinfo.info/e-learning_advance — product packaging folders, brochures, posters, card CDs and many other collaterals for product trainings.
MY ROLE
My role touched upon managing the entire branding cycle—from Client meetings to project documentation, brainstorming on the strategy, choice of media, and production. This involved walking a tightrope; between contributing creatively to the design process, striking partnerships with key vendors, coordinating between the design and the development team, all while sticking to the tight deadline.
BRANDING & MARKETING INITIATIVES for DevInfo / ChildInfo
- UI-Design, conceptualization and brand promotion of UN’s most ambitious database organizing software program, ChildInfo. Implemented and adapted in more than 82 countries, ChildInfo has been used successfully to monitor social and human development in South Asian, Latin American and African countries.
- Taking the UI-design for ChildInfo through various stages till today as its popularly known as DevInfo5.0.
- Executed the overall design congruency and reaffirmation of the ChildInfo and DevInfo4.0 and 5.0 brand identity through Logo design, UI-design, corporate CD & web presentations, web site ( http://www.devinfo.org ) and a constant maintenance with up gradations every quarter, brochures, Posters, collateral, newsletters, Packaging -folders, press kits, give-away event promotional campaigns, organizing training material etc.

MICS (Multiple Indicator Cluster survey) - UNICEF
International household survey program developed by UNICEF. Since 1995, nearly 200 MICS surveys have been implemented, These surveys are a major source of data for monitoring the Millennium Developments Goals as well as the other major international goals and commitments

THE MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS REPORT 2006 – United Nations
This report is based on master set of data that has been compiled by inter-Agency and expert group on MDG Indicators led by the department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat.
MY ROLE
Layout design, conceptualization to the production of the final MDG book was an achievement that was successfully delivered on a tight deadline. The book was distributed across the UN agencies world wide.
THE UN STATISTICAL COMMISSION 1947-2007
Issued on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the work of the United Nations
Statistical Commission and prepared by the Statistics Division, Department of
Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat.
MY ROLE
Layout design, conceptualization to the production of the final Statistical Commission book, 6 fold brochure and poster was done and released successfully in February, 2007.

NetAcross was the IT division for Modi group of Industries headed by Mr. Manish Modi (entrepreneur) with team strength of 350 professionals approx. The organization was later merged with Intiqua plt. (Singapore based IT company)

The key responsibility area was to work in tandem with the team comprising of Quality Analyst, Content developer, code developer and the creative head to achieve the preferred UI-design, and w3 standard HTML codes for various on-shore and off-shore clients.

The on-shore client had a big dream to launch India’s biggest travel portal with a difference. The challenge was to achieve a mega portal with a handful of information. I decided to start the project with the first step, which was designing and branding the logo. I designed and conceptualized almost 78 logos for the client and he was overwhelmed with the efforts. The project is still one among the most successful portals in the Indian travel industry.

Samsung India had launched an online effort for venturing in India’s first customized personal computers for the public. User could select the compatible hardware of his choice and the portal would give a quotation to him.

Design the UI interface for the project. The Interface design was made in tandem with the client’s idea. It took several meetings and brain storming sessions with the client to fulfill his need for the UI-design suited for his line of business.

Job profile
