JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for overseeing the process of quality management of all products and services provided by the organization. Also responsible for liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities on matters pertaining to quality.

JOB SUMMARY

1. Handle all quality matters pertaining to customers, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
2. Ensure the smooth running of the department and establish an effective and efficient operation system towards achieving the performance standard set.
3. Develop and maintain an effective internal control system and ensure that all operations are run in accordance with approved limits, policies, and procedures.
4. Ensure all sensitive (private and confidential) documents in the department are kept in a secured location.
5. Assist Management Representative in matters pertaining to Quality Management System (establishment, maintenance, audit implementation, and identification of improvement).
6. Participate in developing process verification documents prior to mass production.
7. Coordinates continuous improvement program for products and services.
8. Monitoring all corrective and preventive actions, internal and external parties.
9. Plan and coordinate calibration services for all monitoring and measuring equipment.
10. Define part approval requirements for subcontractors, and participate in subcontractor quality surveys and audits.
11. Monitor all final inspections activities for products and services.
12. Identifies the need for use of statistical techniques in production floor.
13. Handles non-conforming products.
14. Coordinates collection of quality performance data.
15. Prepare and update procedures applicable to department.
16. Provide input to Administration Department on training needs.
17. Cooperating and coordinating with other departments for the smooth function of the company.

CAPA : Through the supplier and internal issues with supplier product , issue S-CARs for supplier corrective / preventive action activities. Analyze Supplier information and present supplier metrics to appropriate CAPA boards.
Develop / lead proactive quality improvement plans( supply base ) that will support customer needs.
Work closely with Customer Quality Assurance groups to quickly resolve supplier quality defects and warranty issues.
Manage, develop and interpret acceptable quality standards.
Conduct supplier visits for the purpose source release. Measure and report supplier performance. Participate in regular management reviews of supplier quality to communicate supplier status & ensure plant quality expectations are met.
Issue identification, tracking, resolution and documentation in preparation for supplier communication.
Ensure supplier’s response & actions to product problems are appropriate and documented within Cummins systems.
Coordinate the evaluation of new components from a first receipt point of view, Data Entry and analysis of results versus print and specification requirements as well as when nonconformance is discovered.
Help identify opportunities to improve current processes & systems for increased efficiency.
 Drives supplier quality process improvements to meet business unit quality goals.
Measures and drives supplier performance on quality and delivery to meet business unit goals.
Drives communication with supplier to improve reducibility and process capability of supplied goods.
Participates in the engineering change process with suppliers to ensure revision control and manufacturing integrity of goods shipped to assigned business unit.
Conducts supplier quality system audits
Leads team with Purchasing, Engineering, Plants, and Supplier on root cause analysis of current quality issues.
Assists with supplier First Article submission, tracking, and reporting..
Reviews FEMCA, Control Plan, and other manufacturing processes related to quality documentation.
Supports TopX, MRB, SCAR, Cost Reduction and other corporate initiatives including DPM reduction and Supplier Scorecard monitoring.
Actively participates in new product introductions through the use of quality planning tools like APQP and PPAP.
Maintains a constant awareness and understanding of supplier capabilities and customer needs, both internal and external.
Provides technical guidance to internal customers in specific areas of expertise.
