1. What does the CVlizer® offer?

With the CVlizer® free text résumés are analyzed using semantic criteria, all relevant information is extracted and then directly imported to your own applicant database or applicant management system.

2. Immediate advantages

Using JoinVision.com’s CVlizer® the tedious import of the résumé’s data into the database is omitted.

Furthermore, the CVlizer® provides structured data and ensures a considerably more qualified search option of applicants in the database. Additionally, it offers recruiters a better evaluation of the database for strategic decisions: e.g. tables on the applicant’s skill profile, ensuring a faster preselection.

Hence, recruiters save time double: once when entering the résumé and second when searching for the best matching candidate.

By the way - in case you don’t have your own database yet, JoinVision.com also offers its clients an extensive database that provides, aside from keyword and full text search, a highly developed semantic search.

3. What data is extracted?

If available, the following data is extracted from the résumé and displayed in a structured form as XML-interface:

• Name (form of address, title, name, surname)
• Address (street, zip code, city)
• Personal data (date of birth, citizenship, martial status, address)
• Education (period, institution)
• Professional career (period, company, position, field of activity)
• Abilities (skill, years of experience)
• Experience (field of activity, years)
• Language skills (language, level of proficiency)
• Other information (hobbies, etc)

4) How can I use the CVlizer®?

You have three options: Either you can manually upload using the CVlizer® interface of JoinVision.com, web service or automatic message retrieval by an e-mail account.

The tool can be used quickly, free of charge and without registration on www.joinvision.com: Just upload a résumé and start the analysis. A few moments later the evaluation is at your disposal. If needed, you can additionally extract it as an XML-file.

In case several résumés are to be evaluated, a web service, or automatic message retrieval of an e-mail account is preferred, JoinVision.com provides cost-efficient options. The integration in the your own applicant management system is uncomplicated and can be implemented quickly.

5. The CVlizer® technology

The CV’s procedure of evaluation can be broken down to the following steps:

5.1) Import

Currently the following formats can be imported using an especially developed system for the conversion of documents:

• MS Word (DOC, DOCX) (95-2007)
• Open Office (ODT) (1.0-3.0)
• Adobe (PDF),
• Plaintext (TXT),
• RichTextFormat (RTF)

5.2) Extraction

The imported document is analyzed by a modular, semantic extraction processor, which uses the latest technology in the field of the semantic web. Databases and semantic ontologies are the basis for the extraction. The result is buffered in a structured data type for further processing. Currently German and English are supported as languages for the free format résumé.

5.3) Editing

If necessary, each extracted document can be displayed in a platform and browser independent client for editing. At this the connection between the extracted, structured information and the content of the free text résumé is displayed graphically. If necessary, the structured information can be edited, corrected and extended.

5.4) Export

In the end the structured and, as the case may be, edited extraction result can be exported. Currently you can export to the XML-format. HR-XML and JoinVision.com Résumé on request.

6. Individual customizations

Every step of the CVlizer-résumé analysis can be individually customized. As required, the supported input formats, the extracted information, as well as the application language of the client application can be extended and customized. As a matter of course the extracted data can be provided in individual export formats, e.g. for proprietary recruitment solutions. Furthermore, individual import and export interfaces can be developed.
