    It is still like that in the DACH region: statistically an application without a photo will be disadvantaged. No picture, the application immediately goes to the file reject. And this even though in Germany the "Allgemeine Gleichbehandlungsgesetz" (= General Equal Treatment Act) is binding, which sees the application with a photo in context with “discrimination due to race or origin“.
