MatchPoint offers a semantic search via keywords and via documents (candidate profiles and job postings). Search terms will be semantically analyzed, categorized according to the previously mentioned criteria with the resulting hits then being displayed in order of their relevance. The categorization of the search terms is based on a comprehensive and continuously evolving ontology that not only understands the terms itself but also recognizes related terms and synonyms. For example, the ontology recognizes that the terms "advertising" and “marketing" are synonyms and that the technologies "Oracle-DB" and "MySQL" are closely related with each other. Searching for a term will thus not only find documents containing the specified search term(s), but also documents containing synonyms and other related terms.

In order to find all relevant matches related to a search, the terms are not only semantically analyzed, but also their relevance within the document is rated. Hence, there will be a difference in relevance whether a term is found within the heading of a job posting versus the main content.

Example: We are looking for a software developer with very good Java skills and several years of relevant work experience, who lives in the wider Hamburg area.
